Well, we’re not going to spill the beans; you need to head there yourself and feast your eyes and tickle your tastebuds on some of Britain’s favourite fare.

Friday Brunch at Cooper’s is back and the place is simply bustling (Yes, it’s safety first of course, and the limited capacity due to COVID times is totally being adhered to).

Those Brits are loud at brunche’s aren’t they? But after circulating and socialising, I soon learn there’s a gaggle of American teachers here sampling the British fare too, adding to the sound of the crowd. It’s a fabulous atmosphere, with a real Friday feel and welcoming atmosphere.

All the British favourites are there, of  course. Golden fish and chips, short crust pies galore, both sweet and savoury, Shepherd’s Pie and the good old British roast, which you shouldn’t miss. Yes, there’s even Yorkshire Pudding! And don’t forget that all time traditional British fare… curry!

The beef brisket simply melts on one’s mouth, a cliche I know, but oh so true. And the Gordon Ramsay favourite of Beef Wellington simply delivered perfect pink beef goodness wrapped in shortcut pastry… dreamy to say the least.

Another favourite among the Brits are Scotch Eggs; slightly runny yolks encrusted in meat and a crispy coat of breadcrumbs deliver sheer goodness to diners.

It’s worth mentioning that while it is a brunch, the way it’s dished up is different than pre-pandemic days. Yes, you get to walk up to the dishes which, along with the servers, are behind protective screens. Just tell the servers what you want and they’ll happily plate it up for you. It’s easy and the great thing is that there’s less food wastage, which is brilliant!
