Al Wahda IKEA now has an opening date

For those of us who rely on public transport, the long-awaited news of the opening of this popular Swedish store in Abu Dhabi city is music to our ears.

We’ve finally pinned down a date for the opening of IKEA in Al Wadha Mall, Abu Dhabi.

Before the pandemic we ran a story stating that the new IKEA would open in July 2020, but that has now been pushed back and the new opening date is slated as November 2020, so screwdrivers ate the ready.

The store, at more than 2,000 square metres, won’t be as big as the one located on Yas Island. However, the new store’s  central location near the city centre area of Abu Dhabi will make it more accessible for many city dwellers.
