The food is fabulous… that’s reason enough to return to this coveted dining spot located in Emirates Palace, but there’s so much more of course.

REVIEW: Hakkasan Abu Dhabi reopened its doors on 10th July after being closed due to the pandemic. Now it’s back and business is in full swing, dishing up a modern interpretation of authentic Cantonese cuisine, taking inspiration from both contemporary and ancient China.

The menu includes Hakkasan’s award-winning dishes and signature favourites, such as the Supreme dim sum platter, Hakkasan’s signature Peking duck and Stir-fry black pepper rib-eye beef.

Peking Duck

Hakkasan Abu Dhabi comprises a stylishly long bar and restaurant, with open kitchens where you can see chefs working their skills to produce superb dishes.

Two set menus are available. A Taste of Hakkasan, which is a curated selection of the  restaurant’s signatured dishes priced at AED 318 per person, or Bamboo, a menu for two or more at  AED 398 per person. a single one and a set menu for two. We chose the latter.

First up were small eats, such as the supreme dim sum platter, a colourful dish of gold leaf har gau, abalone chicken shui mai, yellow fungus dumpling and seabass dumplings with cavia, as well as salt and pepper squid (everybody’s favourite)

The dishes were stylishly designed.

For mains, we tucked into sanpai chicken claypot that surrenderedd aromas of sweet Thai basil, dried chilli and spring onion. The spicy prawns with lily bulb, no less, and almond was perfectly designed and almost too good to eat, but we did of course.

The stir-fry black pepper rib eye beef hit the mark, as did the stir-fry sugar snap, cloud ear and ginger, and the edamame egg fried rice.

Save the best to last… well, we always says that because our tooth is oh so sweet and Hakkasan didn’t let us down. The milk chocolate and hazelnut parfait drizzled in warm chocolate sauce and was picture perfect, but not for long.

The dreamy desserts didn’t last long.

Hakkasan is open Wednesdays to Saturdays, 6pm to 11.30pm, and don’t forget for a more private and intimate experience, Hakkasan has private dining rooms that can be booked in advance.
