Abu Dhabi’s Eitihad Airways reaches out to Beirut

The UAE looks towards Beirut and sends an aid mission to help the people of Lebanon’s capital to help overcome the tragic events of the massive explosion that ripped the city apart on 4th August. 

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has transported 16 tons of aid from the government of the United Arab Emirates to Lebanon.

The aid was flown in by an Etihad Airways Boeing 777 aircraft on 6th August, following an explosion at Beirut’s port earlier this week.

In recent months, the United Arab Emirates aid programme supported by Etihad Airways, has also assisted more than one million medical workers worldwide by supplying personal protective equipment (PPE), medical and food aid in support of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
