Beaches were closed for quite some time and have recently begun to reopen once again. While sun, sea and sand sounds oh so good, it feels even better when you dive right in to the big deep blue!

But wait!

While Abu Dhabi Police want you to have all the fun you can muster, they are also issuing this warning for the safety of you and your family.

The warning is aimed at parents and highlights the dangers of leaving children unattended onthe beach.

The capital’s police force advises all parents to equip their children with the necessary floaters and life jackets, regardless if children can swim or not.

The police also warned parents to be vigilant and to avoid being distracted by their phones while their kids are playing in the water.

According to the UAE National News Agency, the police say that negligence has been the main reason behind beach-side such incidents in the past.
