Art is Alive is a site created by musical artist Rhiannon Giddens, along with Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman, which also includes consolidated information about relief efforts and other important COVID-19 related info. Visit: artliveson.com/streaming-now

TrickleUp NYC Artists Network is a subscription site, somewhat similar to Patreon, where for a small monthly fee, you can access custom videos created by some of the pre-eminent performance artists in NYC. Many of these artists are part of the circle of artists I worked most closely with in my previous time at Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater. As part of the project, new artistic projects are being commissioned, so it also helps support the creation of new work. Visit: trickleupnyc.org

Montreux Jazz Festival

NYUAD jazz in Abu Dhabi

The legendary jazz (defined incredibly broadly…) festival site has made more than 50 festival concerts available to stream for free, including performances by Ray Charles, Wu-Tang Clan, Johnny Cash, Nina Simone, Marvin Gaye, Deep Purple, Carlos Santana, and more. Visit: montreuxjazzfestival.com

The Transmedia Performance group on Facebook, started by Claudia Alick, from Oregon Shakespeare Festival, was created to collect and share all the great digital performance and exchange and development projects folks are cooking up. In addition to links to smaller and more grassroots or experimental efforts, it also includes conversations about ways to think through the issues of creating cultural events specifically for online participation. The group was especially helpful in providing resources which helped The Art Center think through how to plan our online edition of Rooftop Rhythms.
