Souk it up

Shangri-La, Qaryat al Beri serves breakfast at the souk-style Sofra BLD. The breakfast buffet has no less than 15 live stations – that’s a lot of action – dishing up emirate Balaleet (vermicelli sweetened with sugar, cardamom, rose water and saffron), Logaimat (Fried, crispy dumplings, drizzled with date molasses), Shakshooka (eggs poached in a sauce of tomatoes, olive oil, peppers, onion and garlic), mezzeh and fresh halloomi cheese. The balcony’s huge, but you’ll need to be early to grab a table at the bustling Sahha all-day dining restaurant at Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi.
